Trapped

Will Jennings, a research physician, patents a new anesthetic drug, marking a major career breakthrough. After presenting at a conference in a Seattle hotel, he is approached by Cheryl, who pretends to be an admirer of his work. She tries to seduce him in the hallway before pulling a gun and forcing him into his hotel room.

Cheryl holds Will hostage and demands a ransom for his daughter Abby. The abduction shifts the stakes from professional betrayal to a personal vendetta. Will is terrified as the plan is explained and the clock begins ticking.

Joe breaks into Will's luxurious Portland home and confronts Will's wife, Karen. He sends Abby away with his cousin Marvin to keep her out of danger while the plot develops. The home invasion escalates into a confrontation about control and fear.

Marvin drives Abby to a remote cabin in the woods, noting that Abby has asthma and relies on an inhaler. The isolation of the cabin heightens the stakes as Abby's condition could become a liability. The journey foreshadows the later attempts to use the inhaler as leverage.

Joe agrees to drive Karen to the cabin so she can administer the inhaler to Abby, blindfolding Karen for the ride. Marvin remains with Abby, who faces her asthma while the situation grows more tense. The plan sets up the critical confrontation at the cabin.

At the cabin, Karen stops Abby's attack with the inhaler, showing her concern for Abby's safety. However, Joe soon forces Karen back into the car, reinserting her into the hostage chain. The moment crystallizes Karen's reluctant involvement in the scheme.

Joe brings Karen back to her home, where she attempts to fight him but is ultimately subdued and held hostage. The domestic scene becomes another front in the larger kidnapping plot. The tension tightens as the couple's safety becomes questionable.

Neighbor Joan stops by unannounced, prompting Karen to pretend she is having an affair with Joe to cover the situation. The ruse buys them a little more time but also adds another layer of deception. The deception falters as the truth remains under the surface.

After Joan leaves, Karen slashes Joe with a scalpel and locks herself in the bathroom. Abby, who has sneaked out of the cabin with Marvin's phone, calls Karen for help. Marvin recaptures Abby and Joe forces his way into the bathroom, continuing the showdown.

Back at the hotel, Will injects Cheryl with succinylcholine, paralyzing her and bringing her to the edge of death before he administers an antidote. Cheryl, fearing for her life, admits that she and Joe orchestrated the plot as revenge for their dead daughter. Will explains his own innocence in the girl’s death, and Cheryl begins to sympathize and agrees to botch the plan.

Cheryl accompanies Will to a bank to withdraw the ransom money while police monitor the operation. On the phone, Joe and Cheryl have a heated argument in which Joe reveals his intention to keep Abby and raise her as his own daughter. The tension between them rises as the exchange nears.

Will and Cheryl board a seaplane to fly toward Portland, while Joe and Karen pursue them on the freeway below. Marvin and Abby follow in a separate SUV, trying to keep Abby safe as the chase unfolds. The seaplane lands on the road, triggering a massive multi-car pileup and heightening the danger.

On the highway, Karen fights Joe in the car and forces him off the road as the crash chaos erupts. Abby suffers another asthma attack, which Karen treats with her inhaler. Police and FBI arrive as the danger subsides and Cheryl is captured.
