Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon

Zhao Zilong, a warrior from Changshan, joins the army of the warlord Liu Bei as a foot soldier. He quickly shows his skills and befriends Luo Ping'an, a fellow soldier also from Changshan. Zhao Zilong gains his first victory during a night raid on an enemy camp.

Liu Bei's forces are overwhelmed by Cao Cao's army, forcing them to retreat to Phoenix Heights for safety. The retreat marks a significant setback for Liu Bei's campaign, with the army regrouping after the defeat. Zhao Zilong continues to fight bravely during the retreat.

Luo Ping'an attempts to escort Liu Bei's family to safety but fails in his mission. His failure causes tension, leading Zhang Fei to consider executing him. Zhao Zilong intervenes and confronts Zhang Fei and Guan Yu in a spear duel to defend Luo Ping'an.

During his duel with Zhang Fei and Guan Yu, Zhao Zilong demonstrates exceptional skill and resilience, holding his ground after several rounds. Impressed by his bravery, Liu Bei grants Zhao Zilong his armor and sends him to rescue Liu Bei's son, Liu Shan.

Zhao Zilong searches through enemy lines with Guan Yu and Zhang Fei providing cover, eventually finding Liu Bei's son Liu Shan. He straps the infant to his body and fights his way out, charging toward Cao Cao, who is observing the battle.

Zhao Zilong seizes Cao Cao's sword during the chaos and leaps to safety on a nearby cliff. Cao Cao witnesses Zhao Zilong's bravery from a distance, along with his granddaughter Cao Ying. Zhao Zilong later returns to Changshan as a celebrated hero.

Liu Bei ascends to the throne of Shu and grants Zhao Zilong the title of one of his Five Tiger Generals, alongside Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, and Huang Zhong. Zhao Zilong is renowned for his undefeated record in battles.

After Liu Bei's death, Zhuge Liang persuades Liu Bei’s successor Liu Shan to wage war against Wei. A now grey-haired Zhao Zilong prepares for battle, accompanied by Guan Xing, Zhang Bao, Luo Ping'an, and Deng Zhi, with instructions from Zhuge Liang through envelopes.

Zhao Zilong opens the first envelope and follows instructions to split the army into two groups. Guan Xing and Zhang Bao lead one, while Zhao Zilong leads the other, setting up for the upcoming battles against Wei forces.

Zhao Zilong engages Wei forces, slaying the four sons of the Wei general Han De. However, he later realizes he's fallen into Cao Cao's granddaughter Cao Ying's trap, forcing a retreat to Phoenix Heights while suffering heavy casualties.

Zhao Zilong confronts and defeats Cao Ying in a duel, though he is injured. He orders his subordinates to keep the victory secret to maintain troop morale, demonstrating his leadership and strategic thinking.

As Wei forces besiege Phoenix Heights, Zhao Zilong allows his troops to lead the charge into battle. The Shu army suffers a heavy defeat when Wei uses gunpowder traps, resulting in significant casualties, including Han De and Deng Zhi.

Zhao Zilong and Luo Ping'an observe the devastation from Phoenix Heights. Luo Ping'an confesses that he betrayed Zhao Zilong out of jealousy because Zhao Zilong continued to rise, while Luo Ping'an remained a foot soldier. They reconcile in a tearful farewell.

Luo Ping'an helps Zhao Zilong remove his armor, and with heartfelt emotion, they prepare for their final stand. Luo Ping'an beats the war drum as Zhao Zilong makes his final charge towards the enemy, showcasing his unwavering courage and dedication.
