The Worthy

A group including Shoaib, his children Eissa and Maryam, and seven other survivors find a fragile shelter with clean water inside an abandoned airplane factory. They secure the site and begin to set rules to survive the escalating chaos outside. The grim reality of the post-apocalyptic world settles in as fear tightens its grip.

Shoaib, Eissa, Qais, and Daoud confront bandits who use a vulnerable woman as bait. Mussa and Gulbin step in to save Shoaib, earning cautious trust from the group. A debate begins about whether the newcomers should stay.

To prevent further chaos, the group decides to lock all weapons in a cabinet and restrict access. The rule sows tension between survivors who want to trust Mussa and Gulbin and those who fear betrayal. The fragile order begins to take shape around this precaution.

When Shoaib asks for his knife, Mussa murders him and proclaims the earth is only for the worthy. His act shatters any remaining trust and signals a new, brutal reality inside the shelter. The group reels from the sudden betrayal.

Mussa starts picking off survivors, turning off the water supply and booby-trapping the valve. Raed dies and Daoud is injured in the ensuing chaos. The group's fragile security collapses as fear and hunger tighten their grip.

Eissa begins to lean into leadership, earning the others' cautious loyalty while bonding with Gulbin. Jamaal grows increasingly distrustful and clashes with Eissa as the young leader consolidates control. The internal tensions threaten the group's circle.

Jamaal's dissent reaches a breaking point and Eissa expels him from the group. The decision further tightens the remaining survivors' fragile order. The departure marks a significant shift in alliances within the shelter.

Eissa, Qais, and Reya set out in search of water and stumble upon Jamaal tied and mutilated, a setup foreshadowing further violence. The discovery proves deadly when Reya is killed during the harrowing expedition. The group returns with heavy losses and new suspicions.

Returning to check on the others, they find Gulbin on watch bleeding; Qais stays with her while Eissa rushes to help the others. He discovers that his sister Maryam remains alive, but most of the shelter lies in ruin and Maryam stands on a plane wing with Mussa on the opposite side. The sight foreshadows a lethal standoff.

In a selfless act, Maryam sacrifices herself to save the remaining survivors, and Mussa is killed in the struggle. The heroic moment deepens the group's resolve while widening the emotional cost of leadership. Eissa must confront the heavy price of trying to rebuild in a broken world.

When Eissa returns, he finds Qais dead and Gulbin still standing. Gulbin reveals herself as the mastermind behind a cruel test designed to recruit people for a new faction, the alif-yaa. She orders Eissa to meet them in Medina and knocks him unconscious to begin the next phase.

The Seer reappears with a stark explanation: the group exists to restore civilization, but the catastrophe lowered people’s standards and chaos attracted those who thrived on it. Shoaib’s past actions are framed as guiding decisions for a hopeful future. The Seer reveals that he departed to allow this deeper transformation.

As dawn breaks, Eissa arms himself for the journey and heads toward Medina. He carries the burden of leadership and an uncertain promise of a new beginning. The path ahead is dangerous, but the mission to rebuild civilization persists.
