The Hitman

Cliff Garret is severely wounded in a drug bust gone bad in Seattle. He dies momentarily in the emergency room, but is revived with a defibrillator. The hospital and Garret's superiors begin a cover-up of his survival, setting the stage for a drastic change in his life.

Garret's survival is kept secret by his supervisor Chambers. He is given a new identity and reinvents himself as a hitman named Danny Grogan. This rebirth anchors his transformation into the criminal underworld.

A year after taking on the new life, Grogan infiltrates the mob organization headed by Marco Luganni. He works his way through the ranks, maintaining his cover as a loyal enforcer. The path is laid for a larger mission targeting the rival factions.

Grogan develops a scheme to bring Luganni together with his rival LaCombe so they can be taken down as a pair. He aims to orchestrate a joint alliance that will topple both powerful bosses. The plan relies on manipulation and timing.

Over two years, Grogan refines his plan and builds influence across both sides while keeping his true identity hidden. He threads himself through criminal networks to control the coming confrontation. The wait amplifies the stakes for everyone involved.

A gang of Iranian drug dealers arrives to muscle in on the territories. They strike Luganni's team and LaCombe's money carriers, intensifying the turf war. The influx of a new player destabilizes the existing balance of power.

Grogan befriends Tim Murphy, a fatherless boy who lives across the hall. Tim's mother works three jobs, so Tim spends more time with Grogan. The mentorship begins to blur lines between protector and operative.

Grogan teaches Tim how to fight after seeing him bullied on the street. The lessons grow more frequent as Tim gains confidence. The bond between mentor and mentee deepens with each session.

Tim stands up to the neighborhood bully, and the bully is bested. Grogan crosses the street and punches the father through a screen door, knocking him to the ground, then walks away. The moment cements Grogan's influence over Tim and his surroundings.

Ronny Delany, Grogan's former partner and secretly allied with Luganni, recognizes Grogan and ties Tim to a chair loaded with explosives to force Grogan to cooperate. The grim gambit shows the lengths to which the conspirators will go to control Grogan. Tim becomes a pawn in the deadly game.

Delany sets off the chair bomb, but Grogan is unharmed and Tim survives the catastrophe. The escape solidifies Grogan's resolve and deepens Tim's reliance on him. The act reveals the true stakes of the power struggle.

At a meeting to set terms of an alliance, Delany has Luganni's men kill LaCombe and his followers. The move removes LaCombe from the equation and escalates the vendetta. The balance of power shifts decisively toward Luganni and Delany.

Following LaCombe's death, Luganni is killed by the Iranian dealers and Delany. The violence paves the way for Grogan to intervene and settle scores on his own terms. The landscape of power becomes even more unstable.

Grogan arrives on the scene and kills Luganni's killers and LaCombe's men. He leaves an enormous sum of money for Tim and his mother in Tim's hospital room. Finally, in retribution for what Delany did to Tim, Grogan blows Delany up while tied to a chair hanging outside a window, much to Chambers' chagrin.
