Pod Clock leads his children through the kitchen to borrow a battery. Arrietty samples ice cream from the freezer and is accidentally trapped when the humans return. Pod rescues her using the ice dispenser, but he must leave behind one gadget.

Arrietty is captured by Pete during a later excursion, and the two begin to understand each other. Pete explains that the house will be demolished because the will is missing.
