The evil Dr. Krupp, Luis Aceves Castañeda, a mad scientist also known as "the Bat," escapes the snake pit into which he was thrown by Popoca the Aztec Mummy Ángel Di Stefani in the previous film and presses on with his relentless bid to seize a priceless Aztec treasure from Popoca's tomb. He conceives a stark plan to outsmart the ancient guardian by fashioning a terrifying machine: a robot with a human head and brain—a true cyborg—built with one purpose, to destroy the mummy should it ever return to thwart his schemes. Krupp’s ominous scheme is a shadow over the tomb, casting a cold edge over every cavern and corridor as the thief of history plots to claim the gold for himself.
To stop Krupp, his old collaborator and the original finder of the mummy, Dr. Eduardo Almada, Ramón Gay, joins forces with his wife Flor Almada, played by Rosita Arenas, and with their partner Pinacate, portrayed by Crox Alvarado. Together they bring a united front against the inventor’s mechanical abomination, driven by a shared memory of what the mummy represents and a vow to protect the tomb’s ancient treasure. The human drama among these scientists, guards, and archaeologists unfolds alongside the looming danger of Krupp’s chrome predator, as layers of motive and history collide in the shadow of Popoca’s resting place.
Inside the mummy’s tomb, Krupp gains entry and seizes the gold breastplate from its resting place on the mummy’s chest. Popoca awakens with a seething fury, and Krupp orders his human robot to do battle with the ageless guardian. The clash between man-made circuitry and elemental fury erupts into a brutal, breathless confrontation, the robot delivering searing electric shocks from its hands that threaten to burn Popoca to ash while the mummy fights to maintain his ancient dignity and strength. The chamber crackles with danger as the two monsters circle one another, each strike carrying the weight of ages of legend and science alike.
As the struggle rages, Dr. Almada bursts into the tomb, charging forward to disrupt Krupp’s scheme. He rips the remote control from Krupp’s grasp, cutting the robot’s cognitive command and leaving the cyborg dazed and inert. The sudden loss of control destabilizes Krupp’s entire plan, and for a heartbeat the tomb seems to tilt toward a fragile peace. In this pivotal moment, the mummy’s unyielding rage surges back to life, and Popoca launches a ferocious counterattack that drives the machine into scrap metal, a metallic wreck collapsing under the weight of a centuries-old fury.
With the robot dismantled and Krupp’s schemes thwarted, Popoca turns his relentless fury on his would-be tormentor. He overpowers Krupp and his henchman, Tierno [Arturo Martínez], and the scarred, antique guardian drags himself away from the tomb’s echoing chambers to seek a final, quiet rest in another dark vault. The mummy’s retreat signals the end of this brutal chapter, leaving Krupp defeated by the very legend he sought to conquer and Popoca to resume the silent, sacred vigil that has guarded the tomb for countless ages.
