In 1918 a vampire stalks an English family, forcing a young woman to obey his commands and staining her fiancé with his blood. Jane explains that the body belonged to Armand Tesla, an eighteenth-century vampire expert. They decide to keep this from Nicki to spare her from reawakening old trauma.
