The Night Watchmen

Rajeeve, the new overnight security guard, reports for duty at the Baltimore newspaper office. The veteran guards haze him, forcing him to wear a uniform bearing the name Rajeeve and to answer to it. Karen, an attractive reporter, is introduced and ogled by the guards as part of the hazing.

Unbeknownst to the guards, the dead clown Blimpo's body has been delivered to the office for autopsy after dying while touring Romania. Two delivery men quietly bribe the watchmen with weed to keep the corpse until the following day. The guards agree, thinking it's harmless, and the corpse remains inside the building.

The corpse suddenly stirs, waking as a vampire, and begins to hunt the occupants of the office. It slaughters a few victims and drains them, transforming others into vampires. The building descends into panic as the undead begin to prowl.

Among the transformed are the newspaper boss Randall and the two stoner delivery men. The vampire outbreak spreads through the newsroom and security staff, consuming more victims and scattering the survivors. Chaos erupts as the living barricade doors and search for a way out.

Only a handful of guards and workers remain: Rajeeve, Karen, Ken, Luca, and Jiggets. The horde forces the group to split up, making it difficult to hold off the vampires. They become separated across the building as the night grows darker.

Ken tries to rally Rajeeve, giving him a pep talk about standing his ground and fighting back. The new recruit, overwhelmed by fear, decides to leave to avoid the immediate danger. This moment marks a turning point in Rajeeve's resolve.

Rajeeve has a change of heart and decides to return to aid the others. He uses the ventilation system to distribute the delivery men’s weed as a tactic to mellow the vampires. The strategy helps stall the attackers and allows the group to regroup.

Reunited, the group stages a counterattack against the vampire horde. They fight their way through the corridors toward the exits, preparing for a dawn escape. The plan succeeds in driving back several of the attackers.

They reach the building's exterior and believe dawn is near, planning to escape as the first light would kill the vampires. The group pushes toward the exit, hoping the day will end the threat. The sense of relief is palpable as they step into the open air.

Even as they flee, the dawn calculation is wrong and night lingers. A final attack erupts as the horde rips off the back of Rajeeve's shirt, revealing a large cross tattoo. The cameo of the symbol proves pivotal in the ensuing defense.

The cross tattoo on Rajeeve's back proves instrumental; the group uses it to repel the remaining vampires until the sun rises and destroys the horde. The symbol becomes a focal point of their improvised defense. They endure a tense stand-off until light finally overwhelms the creatures.

With the sunrise finally destroying the horde, the survivors celebrate their narrow escape. Rajeeve reveals that his real name is Justin. Ken then informs the group that they must now save the world from any remaining vampires.
