The Night Watchmen

Rajeeve is the target of a rough hazing ritual when a group of overnight security guards at a Baltimore newspaper office recruit him into their routine, forcing him to wear a uniform emblazoned with the name and to respond to it as he guards the building. The atmosphere is tense, and the new recruit quickly realizes this is less about camaraderie and more about tests of loyalty and nerve. Along the way, he crosses paths with Karen(/actor/kara-luiz), a sharp and attractive reporter who is all too aware of the leering attention from the guards, adding a layer of uneasy tension to the night shifts.

Unseen by the guards, a grim delivery occurs—the dead body of the clown Blimpo arrives at the office. Blimpo and his touring troupe died under mysterious circumstances while in Romania, and their corpses have been sent back to the United States for autopsy. Two delivery men quietly grease the wheels of the situation by bribing the guards with weed, promising they’ll keep Blimpo’s body in place until the next day. But the arrangement is deadly. The clown awakens as a vampire and begins to stalk the staff, hunting and turning members of the office population so they can join the hunt. Among those altered are the newspaper boss, Randall, and the two delivery men, who become part of the nocturnal threat that closes in on the survivors.

As the night unfolds, a tight-knit group endures the mounting danger: Rajeeve, Karen, and fellow night watchmen Ken, Luca, and Jiggets. The office is split by the vampire horde, leaving the pair of remaining guardians isolated from one another. A hopeful, if desperate, pep talk from Ken spurs Rajeeve to stand and fight, but a moment of doubt pushes him to retreat. Yet the will to protect his new allies returns, and he circles back, using a surprising edge: the weed that was once a mere bribe is now deployed strategically through the building’s ventilation to pacify and stagger the vampires.

This ruse buys the group precious minutes, allowing them to regroup and turn the tide. They manage to pin down and defeat Blimpo and flee the office, thinking dawn will banish the remaining creatures. However, their calculation proves incorrect—the night lingers a few more moments longer than they expect. The escape is interrupted when the horde closes in again, and a dramatic moment reveals a significant personal symbol: the back of Rajeeve’s shirt bears a large cross tattoo that becomes a functional, protective beacon against the vampires. With renewed resolve, the final stand is mounted until the sun finally rises to wipe out the threat.

In the aftermath, Rajeeve finally reveals his true name to the group, confessing that he is really Justin. With the door now opened to a broader mission, Ken informs the team that they must step beyond mere survival and take on the responsibility to save the world from any remaining vampires. As the dawn breaks and the office settles into a quiet, uneasy calm, the survivors understand that their night of hazing, horror, and resilience has given them a strange, new purpose in a world where darkness still lurks just beyond the light.
