The Man in the White Van

In the climax, Annie fights to escape her captor, the man in the white van. After being grabbed and tied up in his barn, she cleverly uses Rebel to distract him and manages to untie herself. When the man wakes up, she tries to run, but he catches her again and begins strangling her. Fortunately, she finds a makeshift weapon and hits him, then escapes the van and reaches her house just in time. She screams for her sister Margaret, who initially doesn’t hear her, but eventually pulls her inside the house. The man storms the house, attempting to catch Annie, but she manages to find an escape through a window. Margaret and Annie then flee by car, and in a frantic chase, Annie runs the man over with the vehicle. Although the police arrive soon after, the man is nowhere to be found, and it becomes clear he managed to escape once again.

The film ends with a disturbing note: it is implied that the man in the white van has survived and resumed his murderous ways. He is shown purchasing a new van and continuing to stalk girls, indicating that he remains at large. The mid-credits scene adds to this chilling conclusion, showing a girl encountering a white van during a camping trip. The scene suggests that the killer might still be out there, and the threat he poses has not ended, leaving viewers with a sense of lingering danger and uncertainty about his fate.
