The Magnificent Butcher

Lam Sai-kwong arrives with his wife Yuet-mei, reuniting with Butcher Wing's family and signaling a tense shift in the town. The ominous energy grows as Ko Tai-hoi spots Yuet-mei and lusts after her. Lan-hsing, Master Ko's goddaughter, witnesses the mounting danger from the shadows.

Ko Tai-hoi seizes Yuet-mei in the town, abducting her and removing her from her husband’s protection. The act sets off a chain of accusations and misdirections among the fighters. Lan-hsing witnesses the abduction, complicating loyalties further.

Wong Fei-hung departs, leaving Butcher Wing and the other disciples to fend for themselves. Without their master’s direct oversight, the students face Tai-hoi’s growing menace and the fragile code that binds them. The town teeters on the edge of a larger conflict.

Sai-kwong assaults Tai-hoi and threatens to murder him unless Yuet-mei is freed. Butcher Wing arrives and stops the assault, driving Sai-kwong off but not resolving the underlying tensions. The confrontation reveals the strain within their circle.

Overwhelmed by loss and betrayal, Sai-kwong contemplates suicide. Beggar So, a wily old friend of Wong Fei-hung, intervenes and counsels a different path. He starts laying the groundwork for a possible reunion and redemption.

Beggar So arranges a meeting between Butcher Wing and Sai-kwong, and they realize they are brothers. The revelation deepens their bond even as Tai-hoi’s hold over Yuet-mei remains a pressing danger. A new, complicated alliance forms.

Lan-hsing tries to rescue Yuet-mei but is captured by Tai-hoi. Her capture increases the urgency of the mission and tightens Tai-hoi’s grip on the situation. The rescue plans must adapt to this new development.

Butcher Wing and Beggar So unite to defeat Tai-hoi’s henchmen and free Yuet-mei and Lan-hsing. They return to Butcher Wing's house, where Lan-hsing's true identity remains concealed for now. The safety of the captives seems momentarily secured.

Tai-hoi breaks into Butcher Wing's house and attempts to rape Lan-hsing, but during the struggle he inadvertently kills her. A night watchman overhears the murder and later discovers an identifying ring left behind. The act escalates the imperative for revenge.

Believing Butcher Wing to be the murderer, Master Ko goes to Po Chi Lam with two students and destroys the school’s sign to drive him away. Leung Foon and Chat confront Ko, leading to a violent clash that leaves Butcher Wing mortally injured. Beggar So begins to tend him and plan a revival.

Butcher Wing is carried to Beggar So, who treats his injuries and subjects him to rigorous training. The old mentor's tough methods aim to sharpen his kung fu and prepare him for the battles ahead. The training deepens their bond and builds the strength to seek vengeance.

The night watchman’s attempt to extort Tai-hoi with the ring ends in murder as Tai-hoi kills the watchman and Sai-kwong. Yuet-mei escapes with the ring and brings the truth to Butcher Wing, fueling his resolve for revenge. The path to confrontation is now clear.

Butcher Wing storms Tai-hoi's private party aboard a rented boat, carrying Sai-kwong's funeral tablet as a symbol of vengeance. After a brutal duel, Butcher Wing overpowers Tai-hoi and kills him, avenging his brother's death. The balance of power shifts dramatically.

Master Ko organizes Tai-hoi's funeral in the town square and intensifies his pursuit of Butcher Wing. Butcher Wing fights Ko using the funeral tablet; Ko breaks Tai-hoi's tablet, tipping the scales against him with Beggar So's help. Wong Fei-hung returns, and the film closes with a joke about the Po Chi Lam sign being upside down.
