The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning

King Triton bans music as a direct response to Queen Athena's death. When pirates crash into the lagoon while Athena tries to recover a music box, she is killed. Devastated by the loss, Triton throws away the music box and forbids all music in the kingdom, believing it was music that drew the pirates to their home.

Marina Del Rey is the governess tasked with keeping Ariel and her sisters in line. Ariel befriends Flounder, a tropical fish, and follows him to a hidden underground music club. The music box is the same one Athena died trying to recover from the pirates. Sebastian leads Ariel to it hoping it will remind Triton of happier times. The box becomes a symbol of the joy and love that once filled Atlantica, and its melody ultimately triggers Triton's emotional breakthrough.

Marina Del Rey and her assistant Benjamin are imprisoned in the Atlantica dungeon for their schemes against Ariel and the kingdom. Her attempts to maintain power through manipulation and even releasing electric eels to harm Ariel ultimately lead to her downfall.

Sebastian supports Ariel's quest by leading her to her mother's music box and encouraging her to bring it to Triton. He also performs in the underground club and helps Ariel understand the importance of music. After the ban is lifted, Triton appoints him as Atlantica's first official Court Composer.

When Ariel is unconscious, Triton cradles her and the music box plays its melody. The music triggers powerful memories of Athena and the joy they once shared, causing Triton to break down and sing to his daughter. This emotional moment helps him realize the damage his ban has caused and leads to their reconciliation.

During the chase scene where Marina releases electric eels to hunt Ariel and Sebastian, Flounder fights them off to protect his friends. His bravery helps the group survive the attack before the final confrontation with Marina.
