One night, Ariel follows Flounder to a hidden underground music club where a lively band plays, and she is stunned to discover Sebastian [Samuel E. Wright] among the performers, delivering percussion with a passion that rekindles something long dormant inside her. The moment she is discovered, the club’s music halts, the crowd scatters, and the band hides. Yet Ariel’s heart is moved by the memory of her mother and the joy that music once brought to Atlantica, and she makes a vow to protect this small spark of song. In a quiet turn of oath and secrecy, she becomes part of the club’s world, earning a sense of belonging that had been missing from the palace.

Ariel returns home and explains her secret excursion to her sisters, who confront her about breaking the rules.
