The Jungle Princess

Ulah is a jungle-raised woman who rescues Chris after a tiger attack and has survived in isolation since childhood. She is compassionate and resilient, capable of fierce love, yet she is feared by locals who superstition-makes her a demon. Her bond with Chris and loyalty to Limau drive the emotional core of the story, even as she confronts danger and possible exile.

Powell is a big-game hunter at the Malaya camp who is engaged to Ava. He is attacked by a tiger but saved by Ulah, and he later returns to the camp to defend Ulah, culminating in a deadly confrontation with Melan. His resourcefulness and courage help drive the reconciliation between lovers while navigating peril.

Ava is Powell's fiancée who becomes jealous of Ulah. She is caught between her loyalty to Chris and her own insecurities, ultimately reconciling with him in the end, while also spending time with Colonel Lane. Her presence adds tension and a counterpoint to the jungle romance.

Melan is a treacherous native who digs a pit to capture Ulah, betraying the group. He murders Karen Neg from behind, and his scheming accelerates the film's fatal turn. Powell's later actions and the monkey uprising ultimately bring Melan's schemes to a violent end.

Karen Neg escapes initial danger and wields a broadsword against the locals, becoming a key figure in the clash between outsiders and natives. His courage is notable but ultimately leads to his death at the hands of the locals.

Col. Lane is Ava's father, a military figure in the camp who embodies authority and tradition. He shares a brief moment of happiness with Ava but remains a symbol of the colonial order amid escalating tensions.
