In the final phase of the Continuation War, the fronts in the far north are quieting, even as distrust lingers. The moment is defined by a fragile armistice coming into view and a battle that has moved from open combat to survival among unlikely companions. News arrives as a Soviet biplane crashes near Anni’s hut, dropping leaflets that declare an armistice.

Set in the remote Lapland forest and at Anni's Sámi reindeer farm, the film grounds its drama in a stark Arctic landscape. The terrain—pine forests, frozen ground, and scarce supplies—forces improvisation and minimalist living. The setting blends military danger with Sami tradition and rural isolation, framing the trio's fragile alliance.

The three unlikely protagonists endure harsh winter conditions with limited supplies, improvised shelter, and shared chores. Veikko remains shackled to the rock longer than expected, while Anni's resourcefulness and Sami rituals help them endure.
