Based on Kristofer Janson’s novel “Marit Skjølte,” this Norwegian silent drama follows young Marit and her beloved Anders, who departs for America in hopes of making a fortune. Unaware of his plans, Marit later discovers that Anders returns to marry a farm heiress, shattering their romance.
