Following the poisoning of the King and Queen, brothers Per and Pål are wrongly arrested, leading younger brother Espen, nicknamed “Ash Lad,” and Princess Kristin to embark on a perilous quest. Their mission is to locate the legendary Soria Moria castle, rumored to be made of gold, and retrieve the Water of Life from its well. This mystical water is the only cure for the King and Queen. However, they face opposition from wicked Danes also seeking the castle, and failure could mean disaster for the brothers, the kingdom, and potentially the world.
