The April Fools

The film opens at an extravagant Wall Street party thrown by Ted, Howard's boss and CEO of a prominent financial firm. Attendees include wealthy traders and executives, all seemingly more interested in flirtation than business.

Howard feels out of place amidst the raunchy behavior and drunken revelry of the partygoers. Despite Ted's encouragement to mingle and seduce, he finds himself unable to attract any of the available women.

The duo arrives at The Safari Club, an equally absurd venue filled with scantily clad women acting wildly. The bizarre environment filled with pop guns and cave women waitresses fails to impress both Howard and Catherine.

Realizing that The Safari Club offers no reprieve from what they left behind, Howard and Catherine decide to find a hipster club instead. There, they dance passionately and share genuine joy, marking a shift in their connection.

While enjoying the club atmosphere, Catherine encounters an astrologist who tells her that Ted is not a good match for her. Surprisingly, the astrologist predicts that Howard is her perfect match, igniting hope in Catherine.

Catherine reveals her intention to leave Ted the following day and return to Paris. She expresses a strong desire to escape her current life, inviting Howard to join her on her journey.
