One adventurous day, while hiding in a box that finds its way into the river, Milo's curiosity turns into an unexpected journey downstream. Otis, determined to keep his friend safe, dashes after him, steeling himself for the challenges that lay ahead. Throughout their escapades, Milo faces a multitude of obstacles: he cleverly evades a bear, tricks a raven while escaping Deadwood Swamp, and even engages in a daring theft from a fox, claiming a dead muskrat as his own.

His journey continues as he follows the Nippon Bearway railroad, encountering various creatures along the way.
