Paandi, Meena's maternal uncle, returns from abroad after several years with the explicit plan to marry Meena. Meena, however, loves a boy from an oppressed caste, a fact her family attributes to a spell over her. The reunion sets up the central conflict as tradition clashes with love.

En route, the group faces a malfunctioning autorickshaw that slows their progress. Karthi needs to use the restroom, and Rani suffers menstrual cramps, adding practical discomfort to the journey. The delays amplify the strain of their mission.

They witness a puberty ceremony procession along the route, which reminds Paandi of his past efforts and reinforces the sense of destiny surrounding Meena's situation. The moment connects present choices to longstanding traditions.

Frustration boils over when Paandi lashes out and beats Meena for humming a song, then directs his anger at his relatives and even his father. He later apologizes to Murugan, indicating a complicated moment of remorse and family tension.

Meanwhile, Siva and Mani, who are following the group, divert to a wine shop and discuss Meena's fidelity. They speculate that she might be pregnant as a possible explanation for her insistence on marrying the boy she loves.

A bull crosses their path, and a young girl claims it as her sole companion. The rooster destined for sacrifice tries to escape but fails, adding symbolic tension to the journey and foreshadowing themes of fate and control.

Meena has a vision of herself walking freely with untied hair, symbolizing a longing for liberation from the constraints surrounding her life. The moment captures her inner desire for autonomy in the face of external pressures.

The group arrives at the seer's residence in Palamedu, where Paandi notices another girl close to Meena's age being cured of infertility. The scene underscores the presence of magical intervention in the community's beliefs.

The seer performs rituals, including stroking the girl's navel and neck and blowing air into her mouth, claiming to have removed tiny voodoo balls and freed her from the spell. The ceremony illustrates the community's trust in ritual healing.

Unable to bear witness to the ritual's procedures, Paandi leaves the premises. He returns only when called, signaling his internal conflict between doubt and faith in the ritual process.
