Tenchi the Movie 2: The Daughter of Darkness

Long ago, young Prince Yosho encounters a demon girl named Yuzuha during the annual Startica celebration on Jurai. They develop a bond, agreeing to meet and play together, but their interaction is cut short when palace guards drive Yuzuha away, fostering her resentment towards Yosho.

Seven centuries later, Yuzuha awakens in the underworld and learns that Yosho is still alive on Earth. She becomes obsessed with him, believing he is her destined partner, and decides to send him a gift to rekindle their connection.

Using a lock of Tenchi's hair and her own, Yuzuha creates a girl who is part human, Juraian, and demon, intending her to entertain her mischievous nature. This new girl is designed to become a link to Yosho and to cause chaos.

During summer, Tenchi encounters a teenage girl named Mayuka on the shrine steps, who boldly calls him 'daddy'. She claims to be his daughter, shocking everyone in the household and prompting immediate suspicion and confusion.

Ryoko disputes Mayuka's paternity, threatening her with an energy sword. Mayuka defends herself by summoning an energy weapon, but Katsuhito intervenes, leaving the truth about Mayuka's DNA to be confirmed by Washu's analysis, revealing her as Tenchi's biological daughter.

The household considers Mayuka's origins, with the leading theory being she comes from the future. Meanwhile, Yuzuha secretly manipulates Mayuka, influencing her actions whenever she is unobserved to advance her own schemes.

Mayuka, under Yuzuha's influence, tries to transport Tenchi to Yuzuha's world. Ryoko intervenes, breaking Yuzuha's control over her, and Katsuhito retrieves Mayuka, who then escapes into the forest again, deepening the mystery.

Yuzuha takes Mayuka to the underworld, erasing her memories and kidnapping Sasami as leverage. Tenchi and Ryoko enter Yuzuha's realm to rescue them, but face the challenge of Yuzuha's interference and the inability to use Juraian powers.

Possessed and transformed into a monster, Mayuka injures Ryoko and attacks Tenchi but is eventually redeemed after hearing Sasami's words of love. Her betrayal leads Yuzuha to kill her and transform into a dark giant creature in retaliation.

With the aid of a Branch from the Tree of Light, Tenchi defeats Yuzuha. Her remains, a red crystal, are used by Washu to resurrect Mayuka, who wishes to be trained and accepted by the group, symbolizing hope and redemption.

By the next Christmas, Mayuka is reincarnated as an infant and integrated into the Masaki family, with plans to raise her as their own. Her resurrection marks a new chapter of family and acceptance, closing the story on a hopeful note.
