Tales from the Darkside: The Movie

The film begins with a young boy named Timmy being kidnapped by a witch named Betty. Captured in her lair, he learns about her sinister plan to roast him for a dinner party with her fellow witches.

To keep himself occupied during his captivity, Timmy is given an old book titled 'Tales From the Darkside.' In a desperate attempt to stall Betty from her dreadful intentions, he begins to read stories from the book.

Timmy starts the first story, 'Lot 249', which centers on Bellingham, a marginalized student. Bellingham, tormented by his wealthy peers, finds an ancient scroll that allows him to resurrect a mummy for vengeance.

Using the resurrected mummy, Bellingham exacts revenge on his tormentors, killing Lee and Susan in brutal fashion. As chaos ensues, Bellingham’s dark ambitions begin to unfold, leading to a grim turn of events.

Andy, Susan's brother, grows suspicious of Bellingham. Upon discovering the truth, he confronts Bellingham and the mummy, resulting in a chaotic battle where Andy ultimately burns the scroll to halt Bellingham's plans.

After seemingly defeating Bellingham, Andy faces a chilling twist when he encounters the reanimated mummies of Susan and Lee. This revelation highlights the extent of Bellingham's dark powers and their tragic ramifications.

Timmy, still stalling for time, begins the second story, 'Cat From Hell.' In this narrative, hitman Halston is tasked to eliminate a supposedly malevolent cat, leading to a chaotic series of misfortunes.

As Halston attempts to carry out his mission, the cat proves to be more cunning than he anticipated. The story escalates to a surprising climax where the hunter becomes the hunted in a gruesome twist.

Timmy moves on to the last story, 'Lover's Vow.' This tale follows artist Preston, who encounters a beautiful woman named Carola, only to be haunted by his dark past involving a murder witnessed years earlier.

After ten years of silence regarding the murder, Preston tells Carola the truth, leading to a horrifying transformation. Carola becomes the very beast linked to his past, revealing their children share a tragic fate.

Returning to Betty's kitchen, Timmy realizes he has delayed her plans long enough. As Betty grows impatient and confrontational, Timmy must think quickly to escape her clutches.

In a moment of desperation, Timmy uses marbles to trip Betty, creating an opportunity to break free. His resourcefulness allows him to turn the tides, and he manages to overpower her.

Timmy finally gains the upper hand and shoves Betty into her own oven. The very witch who sought to cook him meets her end in a fitting twist of fate, thanks to his daring escape.

With Betty defeated, Timmy triumphs and humorously addresses the audience. He quips about the nature of happy endings, leaving viewers with a sense of joy and relief after his harrowing ordeal.
