En route, Romano wakes from a dream and warns Baste to avoid an imminent accident. He begins to see ghosts surrounding the van, looming as the ominous indicators of the deaths to come. The spectral presence intensifies, confirming that fate is not merely avoidable but already in motion.

The group stops to eat at a restaurant in Baguio. Lumen steps away to use the ladies' room, where a ghost confronts her. In a brutal instant, a rail spike pins her head, killing her, and the scene makes clear that the Sundo are already collecting debts.

Moments later, Eric dies during Lumen's husband's wake, struck by electrocution while a male ghost seizes Romano's attention. The succession of deaths demonstrates that each victim's fate is inexorably tied to the ghosts Romano sees. The group realizes the cost of defying Death is high.

The survivors consult a local elder who explains Romano's open third eye and the concept of Sundo, or the fetchers Death uses to reclaim those about to die. He clarifies that even if an accident is prevented, the debt remains and will be collected. The revelation reframes each death as part of a larger ledger rather than random tragedy.

The elder reveals that Baste's Sundo is the old man who raised him—their bond times three generations over. This deepens the sense that lineage and past lives influence the present doom. The group begins to see the ghosts as connected relatives rather than distant harbingers.

Kristina learns her Sundo is a young woman with hair covering her face, a twin sister she never knew existed. The discovery expands the mystery of the specters and hints at hidden family ties that tie the living to the dead. The twins complicate the line between memory and fate.

Louella confesses that her Sundo is the infant she aborted during medical school. This admission adds emotional weight to the group’s collective debt and foreshadows the heavy costs of their decisions. Guilt and fear gnaw at the survivors as the supernatural ledger grows heavier.

Isabel lures Romano to the balcony and Death pushes him off. He tumbles into the pool and loses consciousness. The fall becomes a turning point as the living, dead, and debt collapse into a single moment of reckoning.

Romano sinks beneath the water and dies, only to discover that he has become the Sundo of Louella. This reversal binds their fates together in Death's ledger, complicating the idea that Louella could outrun the debt with Isabel's death paid. The living and the dead are now irrevocably entangled.
