Sundo takes place in the Philippines, traveling between Manila's dense urban landscape and the cooler highland city of Baguio. In the film, a Sundo is a ghostly agent that Death sends to fetch people who are about to die. Romano is a retired military operative portrayed by Robin Padilla who has gained an open third eye after surviving a deadly ambush that left him comatose.
