Sting

12-year-old Charlotte lives in a rundown apartment building alongside her overworked step-father, Ethan, her mother, and her infant half-brother. Isolated from her family, Charlotte often finds herself navigating her own world, striving to connect with Ethan through their shared interest in comic books.

One fateful night, Charlotte discovers a curious little spider that hatches from a mysterious, glowing object that crash-lands in her great-aunt’s apartment. Fascinated by the creature, she decides to keep it as a pet, naming it Sting. As Charlotte nurtures Sting, the spider begins to grow dramatically. Initially, she conceals its increasing size, but soon, the quirky happenings in the building draw the attention of Ethan and the other tenants. The spider’s monstrous growth and relentless hunger ultimately lead to the untimely demise of pets and residents alike.

As tensions rise, Charlotte’s relationship with Ethan suffers, exacerbated by the painful truth of her biological father’s abandonment.
