Haley Graham, portrayed by Missy Peregrym, is a headstrong 17-year-old whose life takes an unexpected turn after a series of reckless actions lead her to a judge’s ultimatum. Following a mishap involving her skateboard friends that causes damage to a construction site, she faces the daunting prospect of returning to the world of gymnastics, a sport she once shined in, but had left behind under tumultuous circumstances. The judge’s decision mandates her attendance at an elite gymnastics academy led by the renowned coach, Burt Vickerman, played by Jeff Bridges.

Once deemed a top contender for the U.S. gymnastics team, Haley’s legendary talent was overshadowed by the infamous moment she abandoned her routine mid-competition at the World Championships, a move that not only cost her team the gold medal but also turned her into a pariah within the gymnastics community.
