Three nerdy frat boys, Calvin, Jimmie, and Keith, shadow the Tri-Delta sorority as they stage a late-night initiation, weaving through the dimly lit house and the buzz of undergrads on the brink of a party. Inside, the sisters prepare for the ritual, with Babs, Robin Stille, Rhonda, and Frankie at the center of the action, while newcomers Taffy and Lisa, Michelle Bauer, wait their turn. The air is a mix of nerves, humor, and the old-fashioned bravado that often accompanies college rites, all watched from outside by the gleaming eyes of the campus.

The initiation unfolds with playful, if uneasy, testing: a paddle delivers a sting, whipped cream splashes in laughter, and the pledges scramble to scrub themselves clean before the boys slip in through an open invitation to join the mischief. Yet the prank takes a sudden turn when the boys are drafted into a dare to steal a trophy from a nearby bowling alley, a job that promises glory but hides a much darker consequence. Unknown to the group, Babs’ father quietly monitors their every move from the mall’s security cameras, turning a night of silly dares into a high-stakes game of consequences.

At the alley, the group encounters Spider, Linnea Quigley, a stoic biker who breaches in with a crowbar, her presence turning the caper into something more dangerous. With her reluctant help, they breach the trophy room, and in a moment of clumsy fate, the bowling trophy slips from their fingers and unleashes Uncle Impie, a mischievous imp who promises each of them a single wish if they free him. The house of cards spins wildly: Jimmie wishes for stacks of gold, Taffy wishes to be Prom Queen, and Keith wishes for a night of passion with Lisa. The spell, however, misfires in unsettling ways: Lisa remains, but Uncle Impie’s magic shrouds her in a transformation that makes her a dangerous, irresistible temptress rather than a partner in their plan.

Calmly suspicious, Spider and Calvin turn away from the offer, recognizing the danger in granting such magical power. Uncle Impie then hijacks the sorority’s security feed to reveal the consequences of the wishes to the others present, and chaos erupts. Frankie becomes the Bride of Frankenstein, Rhonda mutates into a demon minion, while Babs flees in a panic that only deepens as the doors of the mall seem to electrify, trapping everyone inside and turning the initial escape into a trap of fear and magic.

The deception is laid bare when the group realizes the wishes were a sham: Jimmie’s gold is merely wood, and Taffy’s dress vanishes as if erased by a cruel joke of fate. The minions move to sever the promises of safety, killing Jimmie and turning his head into a grotesque bowling “ball” while Lisa, now enchanted, continues to pursue Keith with unrelenting desire. Spider and Calvin hastily hide in a closet, where a pistol is recovered; a few shots later Rhonda is felled, and the chase spills into the night. Keith escapes Lisa only to be overwhelmed by Rhonda, who drives his fate into a dangerous stove. The minions drag Taffy apart, a brutal display that underscores the price of the imp’s ease.

Babs awakens, fights back, and drives Rhonda into the alley where Spider, with a desperate luck, uses a bowling ball to seemingly end Rhonda’s threat. Possession shifts again as Babs is overtaken by the imp’s power, becoming a demon minion herself, a pawn in the imp’s larger plan. Spider and Calvin press on, finding the janitor who unveils the imp’s backstory: the imp was summoned to crown a mediocre bowler as a champion but was imprisoned for thirty years after people were killed in the process, the bowler scapegoated for the tragedy.

Meanwhile, the spell’s fog clears just enough to reveal the grim toll on Lisa: she is killed by Babs with a paddle after slipping free from Impie’s influence, a brutal reminder of power misused. Calvin’s improvisation with a Molotov cocktail ends Babs’s run, burning her to ashes as a final act of defiance. Spider and Calvin push forward, only to be chased by Frankie, who advances with an axe. In a brutal clash, Spider decapitates Frankie, the severed head knocking the doors open and letting in the cold dawn light as the danger loosens its grip.

Calvin struggles to steer a car, only to be attacked from the backseat by Rhonda. Spider handily traps Uncle Impie in a box, the imp’s desperate pleas echoing as the car careens and flips, crashing upside down. The pair emerge, battered but alive, as Spider calls out to Calvin with a tremor of relief, and the dawn light filters through the shattered night. Calvin survives the wreck, while Rhonda is killed in the crash, leaving the road to morning.

As day breaks, Spider rides alongside Calvin on her motorcycle toward her house, the world waking up around them. Uncle Impie remains trapped in the box on the curb, begging for release—an ominous wisp of a reminder that some magical bargains never truly end, and that the audience itself might be drawn into the twist of fate if they linger long enough to listen to his plaintive, cornered pleas.
