Five women, Linda, Gail Harris, Jessica, Melissa Moore, Kimberly, Stacia Zhivago, Suzanne, Barbii, and Janey, Dana Bentley, buy a new sorority house, drawn to it despite the bloody incidents tied to a killer named Hockstatter that stained its past five years earlier. They decide to stay the night so they can meet the movers in the morning, hoping the cheap purchase will be worth the risk. Their eerie calm is punctuated by the presence of a unsettling neighbor, Orville Ketchum, who seems to know more about the night of the murders and the defeat of Hockstatter than he lets on. He hands them a key to the basement and then heads home, leaving behind a shiver of doubt as the storm begins to roll in.

As darkness tightens its grip, the group contemplates the house’s secrets and the strange legacy it carries. Lt. Mike Block and Sgt. Phyllis Shawlee receive a disturbance call and set out toward the infamous residence, hoping to get a clearer sense of the danger and to ensure the women are safe. The tension in the air grows heavier as the rain lashes against the windows, and the house seems to breathe with the memory of its grim history.

Inside, the women clean up after showers and decide to use an old Ouija board they find in the basement, half-curious, half scared by the whisper of what might be lingering in the shadows. The planchette unexpectedly shoots toward the fireplace, heightening the fear and prompting a hasty retreat to bed. A squabble between Suzanne and Janey unsettles the mood further, and when Janey slips downstairs later for a drink, tragedy strikes: she is attacked and killed with a hook by an unseen assailant.

The search for answers intensifies as Suzanne heads to the attic and tragically becomes another victim, stepping on a bear trap before the killer closes in. In another thread of the night, Mike and Phyllis venture to a nearby strip club to track down Candy, a survivor of the massacres connected to Hockstatter, hoping she might remember some crucial detail. Candy struggles to recall specifics, but the investigation keeps pushing forward, nudging toward connections that may involve Orville or the house itself.

Back at the sorority house, Linda, Jessica, and Kimberly descend into the basement again to locate their missing friends. They discover a horrifying sight: the bodies of Janey and Suzanne, suspended and displayed in a grotesque fashion. Real panic erupts as the trio races back upstairs, arming themselves with knives and scrambling to leave. They encounter Orville in the house, and the encounter escalates into a tense game of survival as the killer closes in.

Kimberly hides in a bathroom, but Orville breaches the barrier and murders her, leaving Linda and Jessica to weigh their dwindling options. Linda retreats to the attic for safety, but Orville follows, and the two clash. Linda manages to stab him repeatedly, then, as she makes her way downstairs, Orville is revealed to still be alive after his earlier assault. Linda seizes the moment, overpowering him and drowning him in the toilet, a grim act borne of fear and desperation.

A phone call cuts through the chaos as a voice on the line asks for Hockstatter’s husband, warning that the killer is still inside the house and then abruptly ends. The tension mounts as Jessica lures Linda into the basement, only to reveal herself as the killer, possessed by Hockstatter. A desperate chase ensues, culminating in a confrontation where Orville reemerges, proving he is not out of danger yet. Orville stabs Jessica, but she manages to knock him out just long enough for Linda to turn the tables and strike a fatal blow, stabbing Jessica in the neck.

dawn breaks, and the house’s dread remains suspended in the air. The movers have found the bodies, and Mike arrives with a crew of police officers to secure the scene. Linda, though alive, is revealed to be possessed by Hockstatter as the pair of threats—Orville and the spirit—collide in the final minutes. Orville wakes, shoots Linda dead, and the officers open fire, wounding him as well. He survives the shootout and is rushed to a hospital, where authorities later release him, unable to pin the murders squarely on him.

In the aftermath, the film leaves a chilling impression of possession, vengeance, and the thin line between the living and the dead, underscored by a stormy night that refuses to relinquish its grip on those who dared to reopen a house haunted by tragedy.
