As the film kicks off, we find US Special Forces sniper Bob Lee Swagger alongside his scout, Donny Fenn, positioned in the rugged hills of Ethiopia. They patiently await the moment to provide cover for a US convoy maneuvering through hostile terrain. Their conversation revolves around personal stories, including Donny’s cherished memories with his wife, Sarah. Suddenly, their mission becomes intense as a truck, equipped with a machine gun, rushes toward the convoy. With a flawless precision, Swagger takes out both the driver and shooter, ensuring the mission’s initial success. However, just as they think they’ve seen the worst, a swarm of militia appears, launching an assault on the soldiers. Donny communicates target information while Swagger uses his sharpshooting skills to fend off the attackers, granting the convoy a perilous escape.

Unfortunately, their actions expose their location to enemy forces, leading to a situation where the two snipers become the targets. Back at base, their commanding officer prioritizes maintaining secrecy over the men’s safety, resulting in Swagger and Donny being left behind in grave danger. An enemy helicopter starts to rain down fire, leading to Donny’s tragic demise. As the event unfolds, chaos erupts when the anticipated shot is taken at the Archbishop instead of the president, causing Swagger to become embroiled in a web of life-threatening accusations and explosive confrontations. Injured and frantic, Swagger rushes to exonerate himself, believing he has been framed.

The situation escalates as Swagger goes on the run, surviving a relentless pursuit from law enforcement officers while attempting to piece together who truly orchestrated the setup. Alongside him is Sarah, the widow of his fallen comrade, who stands by him in his quest for justice amidst the chaos.
