Selah and The Spades

Selah Summers is the authoritative figure of the Spades, a drug-dealing faction at Haldwell Boarding School. Under her leadership, the group has operated efficiently, with a loyal ally named Maxxie supporting her in maintaining their dominance.

The arrival of a new student, Paloma, shifts the dynamics at Haldwell. After witnessing Selah in action during Spirit Squad practice, Paloma impresses Selah, leading her to see potential in the newcomer that reminds her of herself.

Selah quickly recruits Paloma to photograph Bobby, the leader of the Bobbies, as she cheats on her boyfriend with Two Tom, the Prefects’ leader. This assignment thrusts Paloma deeper into the competitive world of the school’s factions.

Tarit from the Sea faction warns Selah about a potential traitor within the Spades. This revelation causes Selah to question her inner circle, increasing her paranoia and mistrust.

Selah receives a confrontational call from her mother, demanding her return home. During the call, her mother expresses her concerns about Selah's life choices and mentions a college acceptance letter that Selah has ignored.

The Headmaster of Haldwell cancels the prom due to rampant misconduct among the students. In a charged emergency meeting, Selah and Bobby argue, but Paloma proposes hosting a secret off-campus prom instead.

In a private conversation, Bobby warns Paloma about Selah's dark past, particularly the fate of her former protégé, Teela. Bobby reveals that Selah drugged Teela, leading to a tragic incident and Selah's expulsion.

Concerned for Paloma's wellbeing after she goes missing, Selah and Maxxie conduct a frantic search in the woods. Their urgency escalates when they find Paloma, who is disoriented and on the verge of falling from a cliff.

In a dramatic moment, Selah and Maxxie manage to pull Paloma back from the edge of a cliff just in time. This incident not only highlights the chaos of their lives but also brings to light the complexity of loyalty and betrayal within the Spades.
