Seevalaperi Pandi

Seevalaperi Pandi is married to Velammal, and they live peacefully with his mother and elder brother Malayandi in the village. Pandi leads a simple life, but his strength and bravery are evident. The harmony in their household is a central element at the beginning of the story.

The village leader, Grams, notices Pandi's strength and appoints him as his bodyguard. This marks Pandi's rise in status and his close association with the influential village leader. Their relationship highlights Pandi's protective role in the community.

Grams, despite being generally good, makes flawed decisions that harm the villagers. Nayanar, Sivankalai, Karuppaiah, Mookaiah, and Oochandi oppose Grams' rulings, feeling aggrieved by his judgments. This opposition begins to sow discord within the community.

Pandi and his allies conspire to eliminate Grams due to his unfair decisions. They carry out the murder of Grams, casting a dark shadow over the village. Following the crime, they surrender to authorities, setting off a series of legal repercussions.

During the trial, Pandi's associates are acquitted, but Pandi is sentenced to death for the murder. He remains hopeful that his family will be taken care of after his execution, as promised by his accomplices. His fate appears sealed, reflecting themes of justice and sacrifice.

At the last moment, Pandi receives a reprieve, and his sentence is commuted to life imprisonment. He spends years in jail, believing his allies kept their promise to support his family. During this time, he learns of his family's suffering and betrayal by those he trusted.

Pandi escapes from prison on the night of his sentence. His desire for revenge against his former associates deepens as he begins a vigilante campaign. He visits Nayanar seeking justice, only to be betrayed and turned against his brother.

On the run, Pandi adopts the disguise name 'Konar' and fights injustice by robbing the wealthy and helping the poor. His actions make him a folk hero among the villagers, drawing police attention and turning him into a hunted outlaw.

Pandi lives incognito, helping village head Ravi without revealing his true identity. He continues to fight for justice from the shadows, maintaining his moral principles while avoiding capture. His double life highlights his internal struggle and sense of responsibility.

During a night fight with his wife, Pandi confronts his inner conflict and decides to surrender. The police apprehend him before he can turn himself in openly. His capture marks the end of his vigilante journey and foreshadows his difficult future.

High-ranking police officials, fearing Pandi's influence, plan to execute him secretly in a deserted location. They believe this method will prevent any public sympathy and simplify their actions. Pandi is aware of the plot but refuses to escape, holding onto his principles.

As he faces imminent death, Pandi urges to treat all men equally and abolish caste divisions. His final words emphasize his desire for social equality and justice, leaving a powerful message to those around him.
