Two girls drive along a road when two policemen suddenly stop them and try to assault them. One of the women sends a voice message to a WhatsApp group describing what’s happening, and when Manimaran, Jiiva hears this distress call, he rushes to intervene. He hails from the nearby town of Mayiladuthurai, where he runs a small local TV channel called Kokkarako TV. The town’s powerful MLA looks at him with disdain and repeatedly tries to outsmart him, but Maran proves to be one step ahead. Frustrated and desperate, the MLA enlists a feared local goon, Malli, Varun Kamal, to finish Maran off. As Malli heads toward Maran’s home, a tense moment unfolds: his sister Ilakkiya is pregnant and on the verge of giving birth.
Malli reaches the house, helps Ilakkiya reach the hospital, and donates blood to keep her stable. Maran arrives at the hospital and is relieved to see that his sister is safe and has delivered a boy. Ilakkiya, grateful for the unknown savior who helped her, asks Maran to locate the man who saved her so she can properly thank him. Through a series of careful moves, Maran tracks down Malli, who had threatened to kill him before. He makes repeated calls and insists on meeting, and eventually confronts Malli at a moment when Malli lies on the edge of death after being betrayed by his own associates. Maran rises to the occasion, beating the thugs nearby and securing Malli, whom he then admits to Laksha Hospitals to receive proper care.
What deepens the conflict is the revelation that Malli’s tormentors were acting under the orders of Ashok Mithran, Navdeep, a prominent advocate who had himself been stabbed in court and longs to uncover who was responsible. Mithran uses the fear he has generated to unleash more goons across hospitals, and Maran repeatedly fights them off, admitting the injured to Aruna Hospitals. Mithran quickly deduces that Malli is the target and orders further assaults on Laksha and nearby facilities. In a bold move, Maran seizes a walkie-talkie that a hurried police officer had left behind in a restaurant and uses it to masquerade as a policeman, trying to outmaneuver Mithran’s henchmen.
As Mithran directs his men to hover near a phone booth where Malli was last contacted, a girl unexpectedly calls Malli’s number, triggering Mithran to track the call and order a hit on the caller. Meanwhile, the MLA, eager to see Maran taken down, forwards a photo of Maran to the goon accompanying him. A fierce face-off erupts between Maran and the goons, with Maran emerging triumphant after a grueling struggle. He not only rescues the two girls but also hears their account of the terror they endured.
In a parallel past thread, Pavithra—the village’s top student and a close friend of the two girls—comes into sharper focus. She speaks to the press and declares her ambition to become a lawyer who can clean up the legal system. Prompted by a reporter, she name-drops several cases she intends to pursue. Mithran promptly takes control of those cases, and his power grows as Pavithra publicly challenges him on live television. In a fit of rage, Mithran sponsors a slew of luxuries for Pavithra, including tickets to a theme park, a gesture meant to secure her loyalty. But Mithran’s plan backfires when Pavithra is found dead, killed at the theme park and left outside like a chilling warning. Pavithra’s friends later stumble upon her bloodied body, and the truth about her death begins to spread.
To muddy the waters further, Pavithra’s friends learn that Mithran has coerced Pavithra’s grandfather into stating that she died after a fall from a Ferris wheel. Enraged, Pavithra’s friends don disguises as lawyers and confront Mithran inside a courtroom, where they stab him. Malli witnesses the scene and, choosing to protect them, lets the group go free. They eventually contact Malli and share their story, and he agrees to help them in their quest for justice, even as his own associates threaten and torture him in return.
Back in the present, Maran accepts the plea for help from the two girls and moves to rescue them once again. A police arrest him for allegedly stealing the walkie-talkie, but the charge dissipates when it’s revealed that the very officer’s wife was among those saved at the start. Mithran carries the girls away, and Maran races to their aid. A final, brutal confrontation unfolds between Maran and Mithran, culminating in Maran defeating the advocate and permitting the two girls to put an end to Mithran’s reign of terror.
The story closes with a quiet, personal note: Malli, whose loyalties have shifted, meets Maran’s sister, and Maran’s girlfriend Vasuki, Riya Suman, as they find a measure of peace after the turmoil. The film leaves viewers with a sense of justice served and the complicated bonds that tie a close-knit community to its protectors, suggesting that the line between ally and enemy can blur in the face of relentless ambition and danger.
