On a desolate highway at night, Munishkanth plays Sathish, one of three youngsters who speed along with reckless bravado, the glow of the dashboard and cheap laughter lighting their faces as the world slips by in a blur. What begins as a routine night ride soon twists into a nightmare when a lone man flags them down for a lift, and the encounter quickly turns deadly. The stranger—the Psycho—emerges as a chilling killer who hunts by hitching rides on busy highways, preying on those who stop for a moment of mercy.
ACP Solomon Benito Franklin is tasked with catching this elusive killer, even as his own life trembles on the edge of change: he is getting married the next day, with the wedding spanning between the bustle of Chennai and the quieter edges of Nellore. While he is on the move, his car breaks down, and fate drops him into a tense braid of loyalties and leverage. A young man, who is delivering a 1990 Contessa to an MLA fiercely protective of his vehicles, becomes a crucial link in the night’s chain of events.
The MLA’s henchmen tighten the screws, pressuring the delivery to reach its destination by 4:00 PM. To save time, the driver takes a shortcut that slices nearly twenty kilometers off the route and lets him bypass a toll, a decision that alters the night’s precise map of danger. Solomon, alongside the delivery boy, ends up giving a lift to the young man who had pointed them toward the shortcut, setting in motion a chain of unintended consequences. As they travel this shorter route, two other travelers board the vehicle—completely unaware that they are sharing the road with the same unknown killer.
The Psycho’s presence is felt again as those two strangers become his latest victims, the night swallowing them with swift brutality. Solomon’s team, following a trail of clues, tracks the killer back to a house that seems like a final destination but keeps revealing new twists. Inside, they uncover a tattoo clue—the same mark that appeared earlier with the boy and the driver—hinting at a pattern the killer has used to misdirect his pursuers. The realization lands hard: the killer has been several steps ahead, guiding the investigation away from the true path.
The search intensifies as the investigation threads through a landscape of highways, shortcuts, and hidden motives. Every clue seems to pull the detectives closer to a road that keeps changing shape under the night sky, and the tension builds as they inch toward understanding how the Psycho operates and where his next move will come from. The story unfolds with patient, methodical discovery, showing how Solomon’s team unravels the web of red herrings and finds the killer along the root, long after the initial drives began. In the end, the film balances forensic precision with rural-night dread, turning a simple lift into a labyrinthine chase where truth is found only by reading the road itself.
