When a young woman named Kalavathi approaches him with a request for a modest loan to fund her graduate studies—first for US$10,000 and then US$25,000—Mahi agrees, drawn in by her determination and charm. He lends the money and soon finds himself drawn to her, believing there could be more to their connection than a simple financial agreement. But the moment he uncovers Kalavathi’s gambling habit, a troubling truth emerges: she used him to secure the loan, and there is a much larger web of manipulation at play.

Kalavathi’s father, Rajendranath, looms large in the narrative. Rajendranath is a powerful MP with a seat in the Rajya Sabha and a successful industrialist who runs Rajendranath Associates in Visakhapatnam. As Mahi digs deeper, he learns that Kalavathi’s promise of repayment comes with strings: a political shield and a network of influence designed to bend the system to her family’s advantage. The revelations push Mahi into a dangerous confrontation with a man who wields money and power as if they were weapons.

When Mahi travels to Vizag to demand repayment, he quickly runs into the wrath of Rajendranath. He receives a stern warning that the debt will not be paid back, and after an attempted murder testaments to the stakes, Rajendranath calls him to his office and offers a grim deal: Mahi should publicly claim he targeted rich families and that the debt would be settled on those terms. Instead of bowing to the pressure, Mahi goes public, drawing media attention to the loan and shocking everyone by insisting that Rajendranath owes him ₹10,000 crore (about US$1.2 billion). The confrontation exposes a broader truth behind the scheme, and Mahi’s intent shifts from simple repayment to exposing deep flaws in the banking system itself.

A crucial turn comes when Mahi discovers, through a senior State Bank official named Rajakumari, that Rajendranath had orchestrated a massive rip-off of the bank, involving ₹10,000 crore and illegal laundering that had led to a shutdown of the bank—and Rajakumari herself becomes entangled in the ensuing investigation. Armed with this knowledge, Mahi pursues not only the money but also accountability, aiming to wake the public and authorities to the fault lines within the financial system. A bank notice is served, ordering Rajendranath to repay, and the stakes rise as Kalavathi, realizing her father’s true colors, chooses to stand by Mahi and renew their bond.

The campaign of accountability becomes a mobilizing force in Mahi’s neighborhood. People rally under the slogan “Boycott Banks”, protesting the banks tied to Rajendranath and others allegedly involved in financial fraud with wealthy elites. The political machinery fights back: the Finance Minister warns that Rajendranath could lose his ministerial post and his seat, while Rajendranath himself uses every lever of power at his disposal. A drama unfolds as Rajendranath kidnaps Mahi, with help from the Vizag ACP Ajay, who is ordered to end the trouble by any means. In the ensuing chaos, bank officials discover a mysterious seal bearing ₹1 in every bank locker, hinting at a larger conspiracy. The police themselves had helped Mahi escape when they realized he was fighting for a just cause.

Undeterred, Mahi arrives at the bank, where he faces Rajendranath’s henchmen and a tense standoff. The mob swells, attacking the tyrant as the crowd pleads for justice. In a climactic twist, Mahi saves Rajendranath from the mob, prompting him to confront the gravity of his misdeeds. He ultimately apologizes and agrees to repay the ₹10,000 crore, restoring the State Bank’s reputation and leading to Rajakumari’s release from custody. The community’s faith in the system begins to restore itself as Mahi’s resolve appears to have paid off.

In a candid moment of truth, Rajakumari thanks Mahi and asks about his origins. Mahi reveals a personal tragedy that has shaped his mission: fifteen years earlier, his parents took a loan of ₹15,000 from the same bank, unable to repay in time, and their resulting despair led to suicide. Rather than condemn the bank, Mahi had chosen forgiveness for those who acted in good faith and an insistence that the system work for the people. He shares that the government must reform and that the famous slogan Sarkaru Vaari Paata should be redirected toward the public sector, signaling a broader shift in how credit and accountability are handled in the country.

Through hardship, political pressure, and a fight for financial reform, the story unfolds as a careful meditation on debt, power, and responsibility. The narrative stays grounded in the human toll of financial failure while presenting a larger indictment of the way money moves through institutions and politics.
