Saajan Bakery Since 1962

Betsy and Bobin, along with their maternal uncle Cherian, run the family bakery in Ranni, which was started by their father Saajan. Betsy is hardworking and runs the bakery efficiently, while Bobin is less responsible and dreams of emigrating to Australia. The bakery's fate rests on Betsy's steady leadership and Bobin's reluctant cooperation.

Betsy is separated from her husband Michael and there are no children from the marriage. She continues to run the bakery while dealing with the separation.

Merin, who works in a diagnostic lab, messages the bakery number thinking it is Bobby's personal number. Betsy reads the messages and initially believes they are from her estranged husband Michael, which lifts her mood. The flirtatious messages spark a change in her demeanor.

Bobin discovers that Merin's message to him was read by Betsy and asks Merin to continue messaging Betsy in hopes she might reconcile with Michael. He tries to guide the situation to keep Betsy engaged with the idea of reconciliation. This shows Bobin's attempt to control the outcome for his own ends.

Betsy decides to meet Michael and try to reconcile their differences. She enlists Bobin to drive her to Theni where Michael lives. The trip marks Betsy's willingness to confront the past and seek closure.

When Betsy meets Michael, she realizes the messages were not from him. She is humiliated and leaves Theni in tears. Michael advises her to move on with her life.

Betsy goes away from home and Bobin calls to scold her for not informing him. She confides in Cherian that Bobin is like their deceased father—unfeeling and domineering. Betsy then leaves the bakery and enrolls in IELTS classes to move on.

Bobin's romance with Merin is rocky because his personality mirrors his father. Merin tolerates him but grows tired when he dwells on her past relationship with Abhilash. She tells her ultra-religious parents about Bobin and is kicked out, deciding to move to Bangalore.

The bakery's business is not doing well, and Bobin asks a classmate to sell Saajan bakery's products in their own bakery. This signals a downturn and raises the stakes for the family business.

Benjamin, the classmate's father who owns a bakery, asks for cream buns that Saajan bakery was famous for. Bobin makes really bad cream buns using a YouTube recipe and tries to pass them off as his own. With little time, he buys buns from Benjamin's shop and passes them off, and Benjamin tells him to be honest like his father.

Betsy and Bobin make up and Betsy makes the cream buns that Bobin takes to the owner, who agrees to sell them in his bakery shop. This helps revive the product line and restores some trust between them.

Bobin realizes his follies and goes to Bangalore to try and reconcile with Merin.

Betsy formalizes her divorce and migrates to the United Kingdom, starting a new chapter away from the bakery.
