In Mexico City, we are introduced to Sebastián Silva, a troubled artist battling a ketamine addiction. He is at a crossroads in his life, contemplating the severe decision of ending it all with pentobarbital.

Sebastián's friend and landlord, Mateo, adds an unexpected twist to his despair with dark humor. While renovating their apartment building, Mateo jokes about Sebastián's suicidal thoughts, highlighting the stark contrast between their perspectives.

Sebastián's dedicated housekeeper, Vero, fears for her job due to Mateo's abusive nature. Although she worries for Sebastián's well-being, he often neglects to acknowledge her presence in his tumultuous life.

Sebastián experiences a perilous near-drowning at a gay nude beach, which becomes a pivotal moment in his life. This incident brings him into contact with Jordan Firstman, an American social media influencer.

Following their fateful meeting, Jordan proposes a collaboration on his television project. He invites Sebastián to a party, aiming to explore his artistic vision further.

During the party, Jordan captures a moment of Sebastián consuming ketamine and posts it online without his consent. This triggers a heated confrontation, where Sebastián criticizes Jordan for his lack of depth and superficiality.

Sebastián meets with HBO executives, hoping for a breakthrough in his career. However, his pitch is rejected, leaving him disheartened until he mentions Jordan's project, which piques their interest.

In an effort to accommodate Jordan's needs for the project, Sebastián enlists Vero's help to move a heavy couch. However, distracted by Jordan's persistent calls, Sebastián suffers a tragic fall from the rooftop.

In her overwhelming grief over Sebastián's death, Vero covers his body and goes to her niece's quinceañera. There, she confides in her brother, Lalo, who suggests hiding the incident to avoid police scrutiny.

Jordan notices Sebastián's absence and wrongly interprets it as being ghosted. He falsely claims online that he and Sebastián were in love, all while becoming increasingly anxious about his disappearance.

Mateo stumbles upon Sebastián's journals, which reveal his deep-seated suicidal thoughts. This discovery instills fear in Mateo, as he worries about the implications of Sebastián's struggles and his own potential culpability.

Vero resorts to drastic measures by obtaining pentobarbital and strategically placing it in Sebastián's trash to frame a specific narrative. This act adds another layer of complexity to the already tense situation.

Sebastián's brother, Juan, travels to Mexico after seeing Jordan's posts about Sebastián's disappearance. His arrival intensifies the tension as he seeks the truth behind what happened to his brother.

The police arrive to investigate Sebastián's disappearance, leading to a series of discoveries confirming fears of suicide. Mateo's panic results in a confession, which exacerbates suspicions against him.

In a desperate attempt to communicate, Jordan uses a translation app with Vero. However, when Vero tries to reveal the truth, the translation fails her, leading to further confusion and despair as she walks away holding a bottle of pentobarbital.
