Rock-A-Doodle

In 1957, Chanticleer confronts a stranger sent by the Grand Duke of Owls. He defeats the attacker but forgets to crow, and yet the sun rises anyway. The other animals mock him, and Chanticleer leaves the farm in shame.

Ridiculed by the other animals, Chanticleer flees the farm in shame. The sun goes back down as he has not crowed, plunging the morning into darkness. The farm feels the weight of his absence.

Perpetual darkness and heavy rain descend, threatening the farm with floods. The animals brace for disaster as the daylight fails to return. The landscape grows ominous as the weather worsens.

The fairy tale is read by Edmond's mother to him, setting the stage for the adventure. While the reading unfolds, their family's farm is threatened by a brewing storm. The scene links Edmond's imagination to the danger facing his home.

The Duke arrives and, angered by Edmond's interference, uses magical breath to transform Edmond into a kitten. The spell leaves Edmond vulnerable, as the Duke intends to devour him. The danger intensifies the stakes for the boy and the animals.

Patou, a basset hound from Chanticleer's farm, saves Edmond from the Duke's clutches. Edmond escapes the Duke with the aid of a flashlight, driving the Duke away. This event rekindles Edmond's hope of finding Chanticleer.

Edmond joins Patou, Snipes the magpie, and Peepers the field mouse on a journey to the city. They evade the Duke's agents and slip into the city through an aqueduct pipe. The group hopes to locate Chanticleer and reunite him with his friends.

Chanticleer has become 'The King,' a famous Elvis impersonator in the city, under Pinky Fox's management hired by the Duke. He basks in fame while his friends remain outside, trying to reach him. The arrangement keeps him separated from Edmond and the others.

Goldie Pheasant grows genuinely attracted to Chanticleer and confesses her feelings. Pinky Fox uses the situation to keep Edmond and his friends from delivering a letter to Chanticleer. The tension between romance and deception heightens the stakes of their mission.

Hunch accidentally frees Edmond and the others, allowing them to regroup with Chanticleer and Goldie. They escape the city by helicopter, returning toward the farm. The moment marks the beginning of the final reunion and confrontation.

Back at the farm, the batteries in Edmond's flashlight run out and the Duke's minions close in. The helicopter's spotlight briefly shields them, repelling the pursuers. The farm braces for a final showdown as the light nearly fails.

The Duke taunts Chanticleer and tries to drown him, prompting Edmond to chant Chanticleer's name. The other animals join in, and the Duke transforms into a tornado in a roar of anger. Chanticleer regains his courage and crows loudly, raising the sun and weakening the Duke.

With the sun rising and the floods subsiding, Edmond awakens in the real world and finds the sun shining outside. His mother believes the adventures were only a dream, yet Edmond picks up Chanticleer's book and thanks him. In a magical twist, he is transported into Chanticleer's world to witness the rooster's song.
