In the 1840s, after Mexico cedes California to the United States, a flood of American settlers makes life unbearable for Mexicans. Farmer Joaquín Murrieta seeks vengeance after four Americans murder his wife and his brother is brutally killed. Branded an outlaw, he allies with bandit Three‑Fingered Jack, raises a force of disaffected Mexicans, and wages a bloody campaign against the newcomers. His former friend Bill Warren is forced to lead a posse to hunt him.
