Ring of Curse

Hinako's quiet world is overshadowed by neglect from her parents who favor her younger sister Kana. When she learns she has cancer, she feels more isolated at a school that already treats her as an outcast. The double blow of illness and loneliness sets the stage for darker feelings.

Hinako's curse against Kana coincides with Kana's sudden decline. Kana dies within a month, leaving Hinako with guilt and amplified grievance. This tragedy intensifies Hinako's sense of injustice and her desire for control.

Hinako's attempt to curse her mother falters, revealing the limits of her power. With her family's support still missing, she shifts her attention to a different arena—the school festival—hoping to sharpen her influence. She signs up to write a script and sees the festival as a path to power.

At school, class president Sonoda Shiori leads a wave of bullying against Hinako, turning daily interactions into cruelty. Hinako's sense of belonging shrinks as her classmates target her behind outward appearances of academic success. The atmosphere hardens into a test of who controls attention and fear.

Chosen to write the festival play, Hinako begins to experiment with curses as part of her script work. She curses classmates one by one, testing how much power she can exert. Yuka is the first to sense something unusual and starts paying attention.

Yuka notes the strange changes in Hinako and becomes the only person who seems to understand what is happening at first. She grows concerned for Hinako and the others around her begin to sense danger too. Tension builds as Hinako's influence expands beyond ordinary bullying.

Shiori Sonoda confronts Hinako about the curses, and the confrontation escalates into a deadly moment. In a desperate turn, Sonoda attempts to kill Hinako, only to become ensnared by Hinako's powers. She transfers to another school to escape, misjudging the reach of the curse.

Days later, Sonoda returns with intentions to end Hinako's threat, but the two clash again. Hinako's curse proves lethal, and Sonoda dies as a victim, demonstrating the spell's reach across distances. The tragedy confirms that distance cannot shield anyone from Hinako's influence.

The curse evolves into a new channel: text messages. Hinako's words begin circulating, amplifying fear and danger even when people don't read them directly. Yuka becomes aware that the messages can reach her, but remains unprepared for the consequences.

Time passes and Yuka recounts the Hinako legend to a fresh group of classmates, transforming the tale into a communal story. The curse accelerates as more people hear and read Hinako's words, spreading fear further. One by one, Yuka's new classmates fall, deepening the sense of isolation.

The group steals Yuka's phone and discovers Hinako's warnings, including a direct one to Yuka herself. The danger becomes personal as the warnings reveal who may be next. The pattern of killings continues as fear spreads.

Desperation drives Yuka to drastic action. She begins killing people randomly and crafts a short story woven with Hinako's lines, posting it online in hopes of extending her own life. By spreading Hinako's burden to more readers, she paradoxically buys time for herself while accelerating the curse for others. The more lives touched by Hinako's words, the longer Yuka survives, but the world grows more perilous for everyone who encounters the curse.

The film closes with a haunting meditation on power and peril. A girl’s longing to belong spirals into a deadly web that pulls in friends, strangers, and the very idea of connection. The story leaves with a chilling question: how far will someone go to be seen, and at what cost?
