Lisa also shot and killed Meagan Cooper, Matthew’s former fling, who was trying to reconnect with him. Meagan’s presence and attempt to hide in the wardrobe gave Lisa the opportunity to shoot her, eliminating anyone who might threaten her secret.

The evidence points strongly to Lisa and Evan working together to cover their tracks. Evan, who was motivated by resentment stemming from his past with Matthew, helped Lisa by sending lewd texts from Matthew’s phone to create confusion and by hiding Meagan’s body in the trunk of the car.
