Two interwoven timelines frame the film, weaving past secrets into a present investigation that tests friendship, loyalty, and the price of truth.

In 1981, Unnithan, Siddique waits at home for his flirtatious wife to return and help care for their son and baby daughter. She comes back with her boyfriend, and after a bitter confrontation she walks away, leaving the husband and children to navigate an uncertain future.

Cut to 1996 during a college day festival: Indu, Padmapriya Janakiraman approaches to ask about her sister Lakshmi, who is surrounded by four friends. One of the friends offers to drop Lakshmi home, and the celebration of youth shifts into a moment of dread as a loud scream echoes through the campus. When the crowd parts, Lakshmi, Meera Nandan, lies dead, and the spark of a mystery is ignited.

Back in the present, Rex Immanuel, Kunchacko Boban, joins Philip Idikkula, Biju Menon, and Rashid Munna, Manoj K Jayan, as they anticipate the return of Padmanabhan—Pappu, Jayaram—who has just been released from jail for Lakshmi’s murder. Fueled by Pappu’s stubborn resolve, the group leaves behind their jobs to rejoin college life and pursue an MA in Philosophy, determined to pick up the threads of their interrupted years.

The college days unfold with humor and camaraderie as the four friends dive back into lectures, late-night debates, and the quirks of campus life. Yet beneath the surface, the long-quiet tragedy still breathes, and the mystery of Lakshmi’s death begins to close in on them—threatening to tear the tight-knit circle apart.

As the festival program nears its end, Pappu pieces together the truth and confronts the chilling realization that Rex Immanuel is Lakshmi’s killer. Rex reveals a devastating motive: he was in love with Lakshmi and, upon discovering she was intimate with someone else on her birthday, he snapped, convinced that two important women in his life—his mother and Lakshmi—were cheaters. He narrows his hostility toward Jenny, Ananya who plays Jeni, but Pappu steps in to stop him. In a self-sacrificing twist, Pappu takes responsibility for Rex, sparing his friend at great personal cost.

The story closes with Pappu back in the college environment, a fragile order restored, and the group’s bond forever altered by the truth that finally comes to light. The shadows of the past linger, even as life tries to resume its normal pace.
