When Wes Mason hears a sudden click, he shoots a boy who was merely playing with a cap gun, killing him. Overcome with remorse, Gray Mason returns alone, seeking redemption. He is taken in by John and Nora Willoughby, unaware that they are the grieving parents of the slain child.
