The Yatchi is a supernatural guardian entity created by Marthanda Varma, the king of black magic in Kerala. In 1857, Marthanda Varma commanded the Yatchi to protect his daughter Devyani Kutti after the British man George Williams tried to pursue her. When Yatchi killed Williams, it was later hidden inside an idol and buried. The Yatchi serves as a protective spirit that has been passed down through generations, explaining why Maya has a ghost protecting her.

Maya's father Garudaraja Bhattadhri is a powerful magician based in Kerala who claims to have set the ghost to protect Maya. He is revealed to be somewhat of a fraud, as he does not actually control the real ghost protecting his daughter. When Ashwin and his uncle confront him, he becomes antagonized and decides to perform a dangerous pooja ritual against them. His claims about having a Yatchi in his house lead the group to investigate the bungalow where the palm script is hidden.

George Williams was a British man who arrived in India in 1857 and engaged in predatory behavior, leaving a trail of ruined lives. His lustful ambitions eventually fell upon Devyani Kutti, daughter of Marthanda Varma, the king of black magic. When George proposed to Devyani, Marthanda Varma ordered Yatchi to protect his daughter. Yatchi killed George Williams that night, after which the British left and Yatchi was hidden away inside an idol. This historical event establishes the origin of the ghost that continues to protect Maya in the present.

The palm script is an ancient Yatchi palm script that contains the power to control or neutralize the Yatchi guardian. According to the story, Maya's father claims to have a similar Yatchi in his house. To kill the Yatchi and end the ghost's haunting, the group must retrieve this palm script from the bungalow where it was kept. The script represents the key to ending the supernatural threat that has plagued Maya and those around her.

After learning that Maya's father Garudaraja Bhattadhri is a powerful magician who allegedly arranged the ghost's protection for Maya, Ashwin decides to travel to Kerala with his uncle to confront him. Ashwin wants to understand the source of the supernatural threat and potentially find a way to end it. The confrontation becomes necessary when Ashwin and his uncle openly insult Bhattadhri, provoking him to vow a dangerous counter-attack through a ritual pooja.

When Ashwin and his uncle seek help from Chakra Mahadevi to counter Bhattadhri's threat, they discover that both magicians are actually fake. Neither Bhattadhri nor Mahadevi truly controls the supernatural forces at work. The real protector of Maya is an actual ghost, a genuine supernatural entity that has been guarding her all along. This revelation exposes the magical deception and shows that the danger is more real and complex than either magician claimed.

The ghost is finally defeated when Ashwin and the group successfully retrieve the palm script from Maya's father's bungalow. Throughout the bungalow, they encounter various hostile spirits but persevere through the challenges. Once they secure the palm script, they are able to overcome the ghostly presence that has haunted them throughout the story, ending the supernatural threat and allowing peace to return.

After the palm script is secured and the ghost is finally killed, the immediate threat is eliminated. The story concludes with the joyful wedding of Ashwin and Maya, symbolizing their perseverance through the supernatural ordeal. The wedding represents not just their union but also a reconciliation of past traumas and present courage, bringing closure to the entire community that was affected by the haunting.
