Porky’s Romance

The cartoon opens with Petunia Pig being nervous on stage, tripping over her lines and mispronouncing them. An off-screen announcer (voiced by Alan Reed) tells her not to get excited, which triggers an explosive rant as the curtain falls. This opening sets up Petunia's volatile personality before the main plot unfolds.

Porky buys flowers, candy, and a diamond ring in preparation for a visit to Petunia. He hopes these gifts will win her affection and finally secure a relationship.

Porky arrives at Petunia's house and knocks on the door. Petunia answers with her spoiled dog Fluffnums, is disgusted by him, and tells him to go away.

Porky leaves the doorstep in sadness, but Fluffnums spots the candy and alerts Petunia to Porky's visit. This foreshadows the trouble he will face inside.

Petunia runs after Porky and invites him inside, where she rips open the candy container and begins eating the candy. Porky tries to take a piece, but Fluffnums harasses him with snarls and blocking access.

Porky finally gets a piece of candy, only to discover Fluffnums ate it. He then tries to propose to Petunia, but Fluffnums pulls a rug out from under him and Petunia laughs, humiliating him.

Shamed, Porky leaves the house and writes a suicide note, attempting to hang himself from a tree. The branch snaps under his weight, knocking him out and sending him into a dreamlike state.

In a dream, he envisions a church wedding and marriage to Petunia. After the ceremony they go on a honeymoon, and a message Time... munches on! appears on the screen as sounds of candy being eaten are heard.

The dream shows Porky doing all the housework while Petunia acts as a couch potato. Fluffnums has adopted the same lazy lifestyle, creating a chaotic domestic scene in reverse roles.

Porky's kids, all named Porky Pig Jr., wake up when a stack of dishes falls on him from the kitchen. Petunia yells at him to quiet the kids, and she beats him over the head with a rolling pin while the kids cheer.

Porky awakens, and Petunia gently brushes him, apologizing for her earlier demeanor and accepting his proposal. The moment gives Porky a glimmer of hope about their future.

Remembering the harsh treatment in the dream, Porky fears what marriage to Petunia might bring and takes his gifts, intending to leave. He then returns to punish Fluffnums by kicking the dog, which yelps in pain, and he runs off again.

Petunia is left dazed as Porky runs off after punishing Fluffnums. She stands in confusion, unsure of what comes next for their relationship, leaving the cartoon with unresolved tension.
