Feast

A stray male Boston Terrier puppy, hungry and curious, lingers over discarded fast-food wrappers until he spots a dropped French fry and nibbles it. James, Tommy Snider, the man who dropped the fry, offers him a second piece and decides to adopt him as a pet. James names him Winston and begins feeding him portions of his own meals alongside regular kibble, creating a warm, affectionate bond between owner and dog.

One day, Kirby, Katie Lowes, a waitress at a local restaurant, enters James’s life and persuades him to adopt a healthier diet and lifestyle. The change, though well meaning, upsets Winston, who finds the new leftovers vegetables unappealing and strange after so much junk food. The tension between James and Kirby leads to an argument, and the couple eventually break up, sending James into a deep depression and causing him to revert to his old eating habits.

Winston initially revels in the return of junk food, but he quickly senses James’s sadness and the rift it has created. A small piece of parsley, somehow reminding James of Kirby and the meals they used to share, inspires Winston to try to mend things. He steals the herb and brings it to Kirby, sparking a chase as he battles temptations of delicious food on the way. James follows Winston to the restaurant, and the effort pays off: the two reunite, and they marry not long after.

Relieved that his favorite person is happy again, Winston settles back into a routine of normal dog food, believing all is well. But life continues to unfold; some time after the couple moves into a new house, Winston spots meatballs rolling across the kitchen floor and is drawn to them. Following the sauce trails, he reaches the base of a high chair where the couple’s infant sits, and the child happily tosses another meatball to him. As the film draws to a close, Winston resumes feasting on his owners’ leftovers, gleefully enjoying cupcakes at the baby’s first birthday party.
