At the end, Newton rescued and reconciled with Zero before he was arrested for his actions. Zero's ship crashed into the glacier, and his data on Giratina's abilities was destroyed when Dawn's Swinub and Buneary froze the ship, ending his threat.

Zero's arrest provides closure to the villain's arc while showing Newton's compassion.
