JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time

Dawnstar and Karate Kid visit a museum dedicated to the Justice League's exploits in the 31st century. While exploring, they accidentally activate equipment that releases Lex Luthor from suspended animation, where he had been frozen since his earlier defeat.

The Eternity Glass is a powerful artifact that can manipulate time and space. Luthor discovers it in the museum and uses it to release Time Trapper from imprisonment, allowing him to travel back to the present day and execute his plan.

The Legion of Doom travels back in time and successfully sends Kal-El's ship away from Earth, preventing Jonathan and Martha Kent from adopting him. Since Superman never becomes a hero in this altered timeline, the Justice League never forms, causing the League members to be erased from existence.

The heroes warned that changing Superman's origin would create a paradox.

Dawnstar and Karate Kid realize that if Luthor never obtains the Eternity Glass, he cannot release Time Trapper and execute his plan. They travel to the past and free Luthor from his frozen prison, which removes the corrupted future Luthor from the timeline and restores the original chain of events, bringing the League back.

Karate Kid discovers that Time Trapper is composed of dark matter, making him immune to physical attacks. However, Dawnstar's light-based powers are the opposite of dark matter. She channels her abilities to charge directly at Time Trapper, neutralizing him and allowing the League to defeat him.

After Luthor is defeated and sent to Blackgate Penitentiary, Gorilla Grodd emerges to seize control of the Legion of Doom. The movie sets this up as a new threat, showing that while Luthor is defeated, the organization remains dangerous with a new, powerful leader.

After Karate Kid and Dawnstar return to their time, they discover that Superman's statue has been replaced by a statue of Luthor. This suggests that despite their efforts, the timeline was still altered in some way, prompting them to travel back to the 21st century again to set things right.

Time Trapper exists outside of time itself, which makes him immune to timeline alterations that affect other characters. This is why he remains a threat even when the heroes try to erase Luthor's actions by preventing him from obtaining the Eternity Glass.

The three heroes travel back in time to disrupt the Legion of Doom's plan to send Kal-El's ship away from Earth. While Superman and the rest of the League stall Luthor in the present, their mission is to ensure Superman gets adopted by the Kent family.

When Dawnstar and Karate Kid arrive in the present and explain their situation, Wonder Woman uses her Lasso of Truth to confirm their story is genuine. This convinces the League to trust them and help with the rescue mission.
