Play or Die

Lucas and Chloé, a former dysfunctional couple, reunite after a year apart when Chloé invites him to play Paranoia, a game that promises a million euros to the winners. They decide to enter the competition, hoping to move past their history and test their bond under pressure.

The pair collect clues and solve early puzzles, learning the game is designed to test their wits and trust. Their progress earns them entry into Paranoia, and they are guided to the abandoned hospital where the game will unfold.

A disembodied voice announces the basic rules and the sequence of tests, but with two crucial hidden conditions: nothing in the game is real and someone will die. The revelation shocks the players and raises the stakes beyond a simple puzzle challenge.

Lucas begins to notice oddities in how the game is set up, suspecting the organizers may be trying to eliminate the players. Chloé, however, refuses to believe that anyone would want to kill them all.

Shortly after the first test, the couple encounters the corpse of a fellow player. The grim discovery heightens fear and pushes them to push through the remaining tests.

In another room they discover another dead player and papers about Naomi, a dangerous patient admitted to the hospital years ago. Chloé deduces that Naomi must have been committing the murders.

The couple continues to the final test, moving toward the abandoned hospital church where the game will end. Tension rises as they approach what could be the last challenge.

At the final test, Chloé discovers that Lucas is the murderer and a psychopath with memory loss. The revelation reframes everything they have endured and threatens to derail any chance of surviving the game.

Chloé pretends the end is near, climbs to a ladder on the second floor, and pushes Lucas off in a bid to escape. He manages to locate her and the pursuit leads to a deadly confrontation.

Lucas, unaware of the full truth of his actions, confronts the masked killer and overpowers him in a brutal fight. When the killer's mask is removed, Lucas realizes that the killer shares his own face and learns that he himself is responsible for murdering his mother and organizing the game.

The revelation leaves Lucas to tell the police that the murderer has escaped, closing the case as he comes to terms with his culpability. The game leaves him to face the consequences of the orchestrated death game.
