His journey leads him to the modest dwelling of Geppetto, a widowed woodcarver accompanied by his beloved pets, Figaro the cat and Cleo the fish. Here, he witnesses Geppetto engrossed in the beautiful craft of creating a small wooden puppet, shaped by memories of his late son. The attentive woodcarver meticulously shapes the puppet, whose significance weighs heavily upon him.

As Geppetto finishes for the night, he looks up at the starry sky and makes a heartfelt wish. Suddenly, a brilliant flash of blue light fills the room, breathing life into Pinocchio, a wooden boy played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Jiminy is startled by this astonishing event, trying to engage the now-animated Pinocchio, who merely mimics his words. A radiant Blue Fairy materializes, imbuing Pinocchio with purpose and speech, guiding him towards becoming a real boy—emphasizing values such as bravery, honesty, and selflessness, stating, > “When You Wish Upon a Star.” She also transforms Jiminy into Pinocchio’s guide for this journey.

Geppetto quickly awakens to find his treasured puppet alive, elated by this miracle. Eager for his new son to experience life, he decides to send Pinocchio to school. Sofia, a kind-hearted seagull, joins Jiminy in his mission to protect the newly alive Pinocchio from the dangers that lie ahead.

However, trouble brews as the deceptive duo of Honest John and Gideon plot to exploit Pinocchio’s innocence, luring him with dreams of fame under the imposing puppeteer, Stromboli, promising him a promising role. “Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee,” they tempt, but Jiminy quickly intervenes, urging Pinocchio to heed Geppetto’s advice and chase a path of integrity and valor. Excited for his performance, Pinocchio’s debut doesn’t go as planned, as he struggles during the show, but his spirit wins over the audience despite Stromboli’s cruel treatment. Following this, Geppetto frantically searches for his son but remains unaware of Jiminy’s valiant attempts to reach him.

Once free, Jiminy tracks down Pinocchio, who feigns indifference, causing his nose to grow longer with each lie. This touch of deception inspires Pinocchio to hatch a plan to escape captivity. The duo embarks on a new adventure, eventually meeting the Coachman, who entices Pinocchio with the allure of Pleasure Island. Despite initial hesitation, he succumbs to the Coachman’s temptation, only to later discover the dark reality of the island, where children’s mischievousness leads to their transformation into donkeys, forced into labor.

As time passes, Pinocchio realizes his duty lies with Geppetto. Sofia arrives bearing news that Geppetto has gone in search of his son, spurring Pinocchio and Jiminy on a mission to rescue him. Their reunion is cut short by the terrifying Monstro, a giant sea creature, which swallows them whole. Pinocchio devises an ingenious escape plan by igniting a makeshift raft, forcing Monstro to expel them back into the world.

Back on shore, Geppetto falls unconscious from exhaustion, leaving Pinocchio heartbroken. His tears bring Geppetto back to life, restoring their bond. As Geppetto expresses his pride and love, Pinocchio’s wooden form begins to transform into that of a real boy, symbolizing his journey from puppet to human filled with wisdom, kindness, and sincerity.
