In a bold, otherworldly twist on relocation, a bumbling, accident-prone race of aliens called the Boov—led by the self-assured, often overbearing Captain Smek—stage a seemingly friendly takeover of Earth. Their mission is to relocate humanity to the Australian Outback, where the Boov can settle into humans’ homes while treating Earth as a new, orderly oasis. Amid this grand but hurried plan, one Boov named Oh stands out for his curiosity and free-thinking spirit. He longs to fit in, but his well-meaning missteps quickly set off a chain of comedic calamities that ripple through the galaxy’s busy network of adventures.

On Earth, the 13-year-old human girl Tip Tucci, together with her Japanese Bobtail cat Pig, is among the few who manage to avoid being relocated. Tip is determined to find her mother, Lucy, who has vanished into the maze of human camps that the Boov have established. When Oh decides to throw a housewarming party to show he belongs, no Boov actually attends, leaving Oh feeling more isolated than ever while Tip becomes a beacon of stubborn hope.

To try to salvage his social standing, Oh sends out an invitation to his own party to every alien in the galaxy—an innocent gesture that accidentally broadcasts to all Boov and, more dangerously, to their old rival, the Gorg. The Gorg’s history with the Boov is tainted by a failed peace and the theft of a mysterious artifact Smek later calls “The Shusher.” Enraged by Oh’s mistake, the Boov declare him a fugitive, and Oh flees, ending up in a convenience store just as Tip, driving Lucy’s car, arrives on a supply run. Tip attacks Oh on sight and locks him in a freezer, forcing him to promise to fix her car in exchange for his freedom—he quickly turns the car into a flying craft he dubs Slushious.

To avoid capture, Oh promises to help Tip locate Lucy, yet his real plan is to abandon Tip and hitch a ride to Antarctica—the Earth’s sole Boov-free zone. His attempt to dump Tip in a public restroom is foiled by Kyle, a grumpy Boov traffic officer who arrives to demand Oh’s password so Smek can cancel the party invitation. The duo escapes Kyle’s grasp and heads toward Paris, where the Boov Command Centre sits inside the Eiffel Tower, nicknamed the “Great Antenna.” They sneak into the tower, Oh cancels the invitation before the Gorg can receive it, and he begins a desperate search for Lucy. The evidence points to Lucy being in a human camp in Australia, where she also hopes to reunite with her daughter.

The chase leads Oh and Tip to a risk-filled confrontation with Smek, who orders Oh’s execution. In a daring move, Tip uses a Boov gravity device to flip the tower upside down, buying them time to escape. It’s a turning point: Oh begins to see the human world through new eyes and admits that he no longer buys Smek’s propaganda about humans being “simple and backward.” He apologizes to Tip, and the two forge a renewed bond as they set their sights on Australia.

Their journey toward Lucy is interrupted by a swarm of Gorg drones, forcing the flight into a risky battle in which the Slushious is damaged. In the wreckage, Oh discovers a Gorg SuperChip in a crashed drone and harnesses it to repair the vehicle. Reaching the human relocation camp, Oh witnesses the Boov evacuation in progress and realizes the Gorg threat could bring ruin to Earth if the Boov fail to keep it together. He vows to help Tip reunite with Lucy, and although Tip refuses to abandon her search for her mother, Oh makes a bold choice: he joins the Boov’s effort, choosing loyalty over fear.

The Boov mothership faces an all-out Gorg assault, but Oh uses the SuperChip to push the ship to higher speeds, creating an opening escape that earns him the respect of the Boov. The other Boov, inspired by his courage, listen as Oh challenges Smek’s deceit and the cowardice of his peers. In a decisive moment, Kyle seizes The Shusher from a startled Smek and proclaims Oh as the new captain. Oh accepts, turning the ship away from panic and toward Earth to fulfill his promise to Tip.

A crucial realization comes when Tip remarks that the Gorg are chasing the Shusher, not the Boov. With this knowledge, Oh locks Tip and Lucy inside Slushious and confronts the Gorg mothership alone. Tip’s help proves vital as they return the Shusher to the Gorg, only to reveal that the artifact is actually an egg containing the next generation of Gorg. The lone Gorg aboard the ship greets the revelation with quiet relief—the last of his kind, searching for his children, has finally found them.

Two weeks later, the Boov have relocated their colony to the Moon. Earth’s human population returns to their homes, and the Boov begin to move in and mingle with the humans in a more harmonious shared existence. Oh moves in with the Tuccis, welcoming a broader mix of alien visitors to his parties, and the bond between Oh and Tip becomes a symbol of coexistence and hope.
